One San Antonio's most expensive homes for sale got a $1.5 million price cut

One of San Antonio's priciest residential listings — a lavish, 13,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style villa — had a cool $1.5 million cut from its asking price over the past few months.

The Terrell Hills mansion first hit the market a year ago with a $7 million price tag, making it the city's most expensive home for sale at the time. A pair of reductions this spring whittled the price down to $6.5 million. Then a doozie hit this summer: the owner slashed the listing to $5.5 million.

Built in 2009, the two-story residence showcases "opulent living spaces" embellished by sweeping archways, intricate moldings, interior brickwork and loads of other architectural details, according to its sales listing.

The four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath main residence includes a 25-by-20-foot master bedroom along with three separate living areas. A separate guest house and four-car garage also are located on the nearly one-acre lot.

The backyard includes a fountain-fed swimming pool surrounded by intricate brickwork and manicured shrubbery. Of course. A covered patio with an elaborate outdoor kitchen overlooks the outdoor oasis.
