Editorial Department Internships
Editorial Internships - General
The San Antonio Current takes on interns throughout the year to assist with a variety of projects on the editorial floor. Geared for college students with strong writing skills, the editorial internship program requires approximately 15 hours per week and involves working with the associate editor by updating and maintaining the Current’s online calendar of events (including live music, visual art, theater, talks and readings) as well as fact-checking articles. Editorial interns also assist editors and writers by blogging about a wide range of topics and are encouraged to pitch blog and story ideas based on personal interests. In addition to the experience gained by working in a busy newsroom, interns typically leave the program with published writing samples.
Submit a brief introduction, a résumé and two writing samples (can be published or non-published) to email@example.com with the subject line Editorial Intern - General. Interviews are held on a rolling basis. Editorial internships are unpaid.
