Advertising Sales

Be a part of the heartbeat of the city! The San Antonio Current is hiring an Advertising Sales Account Executive to sell print & online advertising and event sponsorships. We give our readers the inside scoop on dining, nightlife, arts, politics, events & more every single week and produce 3 large events each year. Do you have energy, a sense of humor and a drive to work with local businesses in a fast paced environment? Are you excited to be reading this? Then we want to meet you!

As an Account Executive you will:
-Develop partnerships with local retailers, restaurants, bars, agencies & major accounts
-Practice consultative sales methods to sell and promote the Current
-Develop sales strategies & determine new business opportunities in print, sponsorship and online
-Meet and exceed all sales and revenue targets
-Create, develop, and maintain multifaceted, integrated marketing programs.
-Have the freedom to expand your own business in an environment that cultivates growth and success.

Journalism Internships (unpaid)


The San Antonio Current, the award-winning altweekly newspaper of the nation’s seventh-largest U.S. city, hosts one to three college- and graduate-level editorial interns during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Start/end dates and hours are flexible and can be tailored to fit work and school schedules. Applicants should be skilled in basic story research and composition. Camera and web skills a plus.

We are currently accepting applications for Summer 2013 internships.

Duties include:
• Contribute original copy to the paper on a weekly basis,

• Contribute photos w/ stories as needed/appropriate.
• Generate story ideas for paper and contribute to
  story-arc development
• Attend weekly staff and story-development meetings
• Post and edit stories as requested
• Participate in copy-editing of galleys during editorial production


Web assistant Internships (unpaid)


The San Antonio Current, the award-winning altweekly newspaper of the nation’s seventh-largest U.S. city, will host one to two college- and graduate-level web interns during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Start/end dates and hours are flexible and can be tailored to fit work and school schedules. Applicants should be skilled in HTML, CSS, Wordpress, CMS and use of Adobe Creative Suite. Must have your own laptop with Adobe CS.
