Though sometimes it still feels like summer outside in San Antonio, it's officially pumpkin season — time to start reveling in fall activities!

Whether you're looking for cool-weather family fun or just the perfect Instagrammable fall photo shoot, we have you covered with the best pumpkin patches and corn mazes in and around San Antonio.

These spots aren't just for picking out a good-looking gourd. Many offer a full day of activities including hay rides, face painting and even fly fishing.

This popular pumpkin patch opens Oct. 2 and runs daily until Oct. 31, or until they sell out of their stockpile of gourds. Helotes Hills United Methodist Church sells pumpkins for as low as $1, and also offers pumpkin bread for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.

The annual pumpkin patch in southeast San Antonio will be open from Sept 29. to Oct. 31. The patch will host events throughout October including family-friendly spooky film screenings and weekend market days.

Owl Creek Farm, located right here in San Antonio, offers pony rides, hay rides, petting zoo, bouncy houses and a hay maze by day for $10 admission. Once the sun goes down, Terror By Night will scare you senseless with a haunted maze and Halloween fun (admission $25). The hours for the daytime pumpkin patch are Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Terror By Night is 8 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

Bulverde Pumpkin Patch will be open October 1 through 31 with $20 admission per vehicle. The patch will also host a fall festival October 19 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. including hay rides, games, fun activities, vendors and food trucks.
