Joe Rogan is freaked out about the prospect of turning Texas blue.

Last week, Austin podcaster Joe Rogan begged voters not to turn Texas blue this November.

“The liberals that want to turn Texas blue — like, don’t. You’re going to ruin it,” Rogan said on The Joe Rogan Experience, the nation’s top-rated podcast. He added that it’s good Austin’s liberal blue bubble — which he relocated to from California in 2020 — is surrounded by red.

“You’re going to ruin it for you too — you don’t get it,” he continued. “Like, balance is important.”

While Rogan called Austin progressives “more reasonable” than New York and Los Angeles progressives, he added “there’s this saying about Austin: ‘Keep Austin Weird … and surrounded.”

His reasoning is where things get weird. Saying the quiet part out loud, he compared Republicans to “predators.”

“You can’t kill all the predators because then the deer will [overrun the ecosystem],” Rogan said. “Then you’re hitting them with cars.”

In a state where there have been several instances of enraged MAGA drivers plowing into crowds of protesters, maybe that metaphor is a little too on the nose.

Nonetheless, it seems like quite a few people would agree with Rogan that Republicans are predators. (Cough, cough … Epstein files.)
