Volunteering to give back

Food4SA Food Drive is the largest food drive in the city. Donate at collection centers across town (H-E-B, Security Service Credit Union, and Goodwill) to collect an anticipated million pounds of food for the hungry. Find other ways to help at (210) 431-8388 or safoodbank.org. Habitat for Humanity needs construction volunteers every Friday and Saturday. No one is turned away. Call (210) 223-5203 or visit habitatsa.org. Meals on Wheels needs people to help deliver food to the house-bound and elderly, christianseniorservices.org or (210) 735-5115. "If You Don't Wear It, Share It," coat and blanket drive, sponsored by Bank of America and Adolescent Policy Research Institute. Donated jackets, coats, and blankets will be accepted at the Bank of America CAPRI Center in the Monterey Building room 2.260 at the UTSA Downtown Campus. Information at (210) 458-3116. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation needs volunteers to help rescue animals in need, as well as transport and release them back into the wild.
