Even if Bryan Ortiz's hilarious Doctor S Battles the Sex Crazed Reefer Zombies: The Movie had been his only contribution to local cinema, you can't write San Antonio's film history without mentioning his name. That 2009 feature (with a musical version in post-production as we write) was a bizarre comedy that paid homage to sci-fi/horror B-movies of the 1950s, but the actor/writer/director/composer, who also won the shorts-based 48 Hour Film Project two years in a row, has an eclectic taste. You never know what he's going to come up with next. Let's just hope he keeps them coming.
