Aural Pleasure Review
FEED: 'Thigpen'
Published: July 11, 2012
FEED's Thigpen is 10 tracks of pure lo-fi '90s rock worship. The songs are tight and groovy and rarely drag. The tone is fat, and the tape-quality recording really pushes things into the red. The songs are undeniably catchy in a great-grunge-band-of-the-'90s way, with a solid foundation of wall-of-sound guitar tone. Heavy hitter "And He is Us" chugs hard like a long-lost Helmet track, while "First Cat's Supermother" lays down a fat groove with Hammond organ and wah-wah guitar. Thigpen is catchy, fun, rockin', and totally worth a few spins.
