Bat For Lashes: 'The Haunted Man's Guitar'

Photo: , License: N/A

Natasha Khan’s deliciously eerie The Haunted Man is an album for the end of the world. It’s music made for twirling in a tattered dress while ruthlessly taking out zombies among a sparkling field of wildflowers. The British songstress’ third studio album oscillates between soaring orchestral peaks (“Horses of the Sun”) and gritty piano ballad lows (“Laura”) all while offering a heaping side of synth-driven head boppers that ooze with elusive nostalgia (“All Your Gold”). Sounding like a mix between Kate Bush, Jonsi, and the Lord of The Rings soundtrack, Khan’s perfected synth goth with this effort.
