Whole Foods opens second SA store

Photo: , License: N/A

Though Whole Foods is headquartered in nearby Austin, southern neighbor San Antonio has long had only one store. There's finally going to be a second location, opening on Tuesday, September 17. Located at the Vineyard Shopping Center on Blanco and 1604, the store will have the standbys Whole Foods is known for — local and organic foods, and a range of chef-prepared foods. For those looking for a drink with their meal, the store will have an in-house beer and wine bar. A smattering of tastings and demonstration will fill the week of the opening.

In case you missed it, the new Spec's on De Zavala opened over the summer. They have the usual selections of beer, wine and spirits, but this location also has an in-house deli with fresh sandwiches and sides, a decent selection of cheeses and meats, and a variety of imported foods and condiments. Discounts apply if you pay with cash or debit card.
