Top guac sought by Olé Avocado

Photo: , License: N/A

With the Super Bowl on the horizon, some of you are perfecting your tailgating hors d'oeuvres. If you think your guacamole can't be beat, now's your chance to prove it. San Antonio company Olé Avocado, the makers of avocado products in the refrigerated section of H-E-B, are running a contest to find the best guac with the winner taking home $500. The requirement: use Olé Avocado in your recipe. Submit entries at oleavocado.com and maybe you'll use that prize to throw a kick-ass Super Bowl party. (We know you'll negotiate top dollar for the actual recipe.)

To celebrate their recent opening, Perry's Steakhouse and Grille, a recent addition to La Cantera's roster of restaurants, is practically giving away food. One Friday in the near future, Perry's will be selling their pork chop lunch special for 79 cents to the first 100 guests who order it. The only catch is that they haven't announced which Friday they're running this special. Chop lovers can follow Perry's at facebook.com/PerrysSanAntonio and @PerrysDining on Twitter to find out when they can get in line for the special.
