Texas Wine Month delivering discounts

October is a great month for oenophiles, because this is the time of year Texas vineyards harvest their grapes. The folks behind the Texas Wine Month Trail promise to deliver discounts at 27 Texas Hill Country wineries for $15. Benefits include complimentary wine tastings, discounts on purchases, and chances to win big prizes. If you check in on Facebook or tweet @TexasWineTrail, you’ll also be eligible to win a 2012 Wine Trail Couples Season Pass. (Tickets at texaswinetrail.com.)
Should you indulge in wine month a little too much, head to Francesca’s at Sunset at the Westin La Cantera for a little hair of the dog. Every Sunday in October during brunch (10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.) diners can get a free Bloody Mary. The promotion is part of the national search to find the best Absolut Bloody Mary. After you drink your hangover away, go to Absolut’s Best Bloody in America Facebook page to vote.
