Taste This: Tropical Roll (vegan version), $12

Sushi Zushi offers a precious cuisine (in many senses of the word) excellent for rejoining long-lost friends. My make-up pick: the tropical roll with asparagus, avocado, cucumber, and sprouts gripped by seaweed and rice and covered over again with sweet mango and spicy Sriracha sauce. A saline soy is required, the added wasabi encouraged. It's priced for a pampered set, but if you start your visit by loitering in the stone-paneled washroom where recorded waterfalls and avian chatter reigns, you'll be tempted to submit the receipt to the IRS as a medical expense.
