The empanadas at Horno Misión San José are some of the best meat pies in town, but their more exotic fare is also worth a taste: round boules (named after the French version of bocce ball) and sitges, a Spanish variant from the Spanish carnival town south of Barcelona. Shaped like over-sized croissants, with ham and mozzarella baked inside, these crescent rolls are chewy, not flakey, because they're made with olive oil instead of butter. Heated and packed to go (use the little knife provided to cut it in half), this treat's big enough for two.
