Stock up on kitchen supplies
Published: November 7, 2012
The San Antonio Restaurant Association is helping restaurants and home cooks alike by having a massive garage sale. Restauranteurs have been donating all kinds of kitchen equipment for the sale on Saturday, November 10. While you might not be in the market for an industrial flat top, you also might find great kitchen utensils at inexpensive prices. The sale will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Great American Restaurant Equipment (4511 Walzem).
Did you hear the squeals of a thousand hipsters last week? That was the Trader Joe's opening on Friday. The grocery chain that specializes in hard-to-find foods and carries its own brand of products with quirky flavors and no genetically modified ingredient opened its first store in San Antonio in the Quarry Village, behind the Quarry. Now you can get your fix of Two-Buck Chuck without high-tailing it to Houston.
