Piranha Killer Sushi
Published: June 22, 2011
If you find yourself cooking the same dishes over and over, you need to add some new recipes to your repertoire. This Saturday, June 25, you can take a free cooking class at La Taza Coffee House with chef Michael Flores and learn how to make some seasonal Mexican-inspired dishes, like jalapeno-cheese spread and tomatillo quesadillas. The hour-long class starts at 10:30 a.m., part of a series of free classes Flores teaches at La Taza on the fourth Saturday of every month. If you want a more serious culinary education, consider Culinary Institute of America’s associate degree program. The San Antonio campus will be starting classes on August 22, covering the basics of foodservice and hospitality. Check out ciachef.edu for more info.
Some of you may have noticed Sugarbakers’ extension at the Quarry closed last month. Not to worry: Arlington/Fort Worth chain Piranha Killer Sushi has already snapped up the space. Piranha was awarded Best Sushi for several years by Fort Worth, Texas magazine, so we’re hoping for delicious cuts.
