NAO: CIA's student-run restaurant lifts off
Published: August 29, 2012
The Culinary Institute of America's San Antonio school has been open for a while, but it recently expanded to include a student-run restaurant, NAO (312 Pearl Pkwy, Ste 2104). The restaurant opened earlier in the summer, but was in its soft opening phase until last week. All summer, the chefs have used a three-course prix fixe menu. Now, items can be ordered a la carte. Reservations are encouraged and often needed, as NAO has gotten a considerable amount of attention already. Call (210) 554-6484 to make reservations for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
With the start of school, you parents are probably knee-deep in PB&J makings. To help teach your kids about healthy eating, there's a free demo at the Young Chef's Academy in Stone Oak (20330 Huebner, Ste 110) from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Kids and parents can learn how to make healthy snacks, win prizes, and get free goodies. More info at youngchefsacademy.com.
