Mother's Day means brunch

Admit it. As grouchy as you may have made her, your mom deserves a day of thanks. She birthed you, raised you, and puts up with your whining — the least you could do is buy her a Denver omelet and a mimosa. Some are offering Mother's Day buffets, like Q on the River Walk (123 Losoya), Achiote at the Grand Hyatt (600 E Market), and the Bright Shawl (819 Augusta). Lüke, the Melting Pot, and Luce are offering multi-course meals for the occasion, and Las Canarias will have their usual Sunday Champagne Brunch with extended hours. But remember to make a reservation, as it's one of the year's busiest dining days. For those hard cases, remember: Mother's Day brunch specials don't require moms present.

Honestly, you hard-luck cases may have a softer spot for the Spurs. But ever try parking at a Spurs game? Or eating one of those arena dogs? Consider that the Josephine Street Café (400 E Josephine) is offering free rides to and from home games on May 9 and 13. You can get on the bus as long as you eat at Josephine Street Café, dine-in or to-go.
