Food specials with Downtown Tuesdays

Photo: , License: N/A

Many San Antonio denizens (myself included) don't often make the trip downtown because of the price of parking. Now, (one night a week anyway) we have no excuse: parking at City-operated parking garages is now free after 5 p.m. on Tuesday nights. Better: more than two dozen downtown restaurants are offering Tuesday night specials. Ask for the "downtown Tuesday special" at Ácenar ($5 drinks and apps), Lüke Restaurant, Oro, Schilo's, and more. If you're close to downtown but still not ready to drive: order out. You can get 20-percent-off specials Tuesday* nights through Bike Waiter (thebikewaiter.com), a restaurant bike delivery service.

But Wednesdays aren't too bad either. At least not this one: Today is National Margarita Day, and Z'Tejas at La Cantera (15900 La Cantera Pkwy, Ste 25100)
is ready to salt your rim with some margarita specials. Your first Little Larry, the smaller version of their house margarita, is only $2.22 today. Think of it as preparation for San Antonio's real margarita — Fiesta.

*Online ordering for takeout only.
