Thursday, Aug. 15: The mother of all PBS cooking shows would have turned 101 Thursday; celebrate classic French cuisine a la Julia Child with the staff at Sur La Table. Five percent of the proceeds will go to Wholesome Wave, a national nonprofit that provides community access to fresh, local produce. Saturday, Aug. 17-Saturday, Aug. 24: Culinaria Wine & Culinary Arts Festival kicks off Restaurant Week with a boatload of dining options. Prix fixe menus are available at participating restaurant for $15 and $35 for lunch and dinner, respectively. Visit culinariasa.org for details.
Saturday, Aug. 17: Learn about production and sample some of SA’s best bourbon during Ranger Creek’s monthly Brewstillery tour, which includes a peek at the beer and bourbon production at the facility. Sunday, Aug. 18: The last preview of Ripe: A Spirited Market at Eilan will include cooking demos at Sustenio at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., as well as vendors curated by chef Stephan Pyles with a bounty of fruits, vegetables, breads, meats and cheeses.
