Celebrate Father's Day with a Feast

Photo: , License: N/A

Father's Day is this Sunday. You can take the big guy out for a steak at Bohanan's, Fleming's, Kirby's, Morton's, Myron's, Perry's, Ruth's Chris, or Texas de Brazil, as they're all running specials. If steak isn't Dad's choice, then try Feast, Lüke, Max's Wine Dive, or Biga on the Banks instead. From left-field department: Tillamook cheese is running a contest through Father's Day. Send them a recipe for your dad's ultimate dish and the story behind said dish and you could win a cheesy prize pack worth over $250. Go to tillamook.com for details.

In coffee shop news, the Foundry (2720 McCullough), announced via their Facebook page that they are closing. After four years of serving java, their last day will be Wednesday, June 20. Expect to see more traffic through Brackenridge Park as former patrons head off in search of Local Coffee's new location at 5903 Broadway next to Bike World. The Best of San Antonio 2012 first-place winner offers a variety of coffees (and pastries from Bistro Bakery).
