So, fine, I didn't try the beer milkshake with Guinness — but think you should. I did try the Bharmacy Flu Shot with Sapporo and sake and think, ehh, maybe you shouldn't bother; the sake makes the beer a little more floral, but otherwise… "Ehh" is also my considered critical opinion of the café's marginal fried mushrooms with a bland cream gravy and/or ranch. (There are also such temptations as a Kobe burger and a Kobe hot dog.) Served in a dedicated glass, the Blanche de Bruxelles (left), an unfiltered wheat beer flavored with coriander and dried orange peel is, however, refreshing and delightful. No wonder "it's our biggest seller," according to the bartender. Happy hour is from 4-7 p.m. with good domestic beer at $2.50 and less-good house wine at $4.50. Apparent regulars began to arrive after 6 p.m. We don't know what the place feels like at night, but by day it's a missed opportunity; somebody with a little design sense needs to shake it up.
