It's an ultramodern long bar perched upstairs above the hotel's main entrance. The décor is cool and sparse, perfect for framing casually chic or high-dressed patrons. Opening daily at 4 p.m., Vbar is an exemplar of the resurgent cocktail culture, with a house drink list that is extensive, but don't hesitate to ask your bartender for his own specialty; he's bound to have several. If you want to get close to the River Walk but avoid the sun and crowds of gawking tourists, this dark nook in the Valencia Hotel is a good bet.
