1. Rod Guajardo

All you need to know about Rod Guajardo is in Believe, the short that won the Northside competition at this year's Neighborhood Film Project 3.0 — a janitor (Ricardas Simkaitis) becomes a dancer for a night and, along with his partner (HollyAnn Ovard), engages in choreography so gorgeous it could choke up even the hardest-hearted cinesnob. Not that we're suprised. In previous films like Aftermath, or music videos like Tension Speak's "Choke," Guajardo's attention to detail, elegant shots, and understanding of lighting and framing always deliver a product that's both powerful and entertaining. Expect to hear a lot more from him, as he seems primed and ready for a feature.
