1. The Can Plant
Pearl Brewery, 503 Avenue A, (210) 223-8226, thecanplant.com

The Can Plant Residences are a rather nice slice of urban life. Designed for SA’s urban professional by locally based apartment developer Embrey Partners Ltd., the Plant at the Pearl is located right in el corazón of the city. Just off of Josephine and Grayson Streets, their balcony views of San Antonio and the historic brewery during sunset go down smooth. The Plant holds Silver Status by the National Green Building Standard for its eco-friendly design and dwellings range from studios to one-and two-bedroom apartments. The amenities are hard to beat, as the Plant offers residents taxi boat access on the River Walk, a cyber café, an onsite pet park, and controlled-access parking with elevator entry to all floors. Plus it’s in walking distance to some of the best fine dining, cocktail lounges, and shops — the Pearl Farmers Market on Saturdays is a nice perk — that the city has to offer.
