Best place to buy rare and hard-to-find music

1. Hogwild Records & Tapes
1824 N Main, (210) 733-5354,
facebook.com/hogwildrecords
Locally run and locally focused, Hogwild is a real throwback. It took luck and skill for any record store to survive the big digital meltdown, but Hogwild did it by remaining the kind of hardcore connoisseur joint that harkens back to the '80s: buttons, stickers, pins, 'zines, flyers, and a boss selection of metal and punk. The prices are a throwback, too: hardly a visit goes by without turning up a rare find with a surprisingly reasonable price tag. San Antonio's one-stop shop for the rock 'n' roll lifestyle reminds you of the very tangible joys of the physical side of music.
