CHUCK KERR

1. W.D. Deli
3123 Broadway, (210) 828-2322
wddeli.com

The menu at W.D. Deli reads as long as the lunch line of eager diners. With sandwiches beginning at $6.75, this Midtown locally owned eatery prides itself on providing tasteful fuel that can (hopefully) push you through the second half of the daily grind. Monday through Friday, W.D. Deli boasts a daily special, which includes a sandwich and a soup that are unavailable the rest of the week. For example, if you're still looking for a Friday frequent, try the Macaroni and Cheese Soup. Otherwise, heed to the advice of the Current's Chuck Kerr and steer into the Italian Panini (above). Hot 'n' heavy? Yes, please.

2. The Station Café
