Best Local Elected Official (County)

1. Nelson Wolff
Bexar County Judge, bexar.org/countyjudge

Consider him one of the deans of San Antonio's Democrats. Elected County Judge in 2001, Wolff's been around the block, dipping his toe in nearly every facet of local government including SA City Council and the mayor's seat (twice). With that history, no wonder he put his thoughts to paper, writing a number of books including an insider's account of San Antonio politics during the '80s and '90s.

3. Susan Reed
Bexar County District Attorney, bexar.org/da2
