1. Local Coffee
700 E Sonterra, Ste 1113, (210) 530-8740,
localcoffeesa.com

Not only is it clean, yummy, quiet (when not shimmering with good guitar strum), and buzzing with free wi-fi, but Local Coffee's Sonterra outpost is a homegrown enterprise overflowing with goodness (that ethical, fair-trade kind of goodness some of us just expect from our coffeehouses). The nicest thing about this locally owned and operated (that name is not just feel-good veneer) that is built on amazing beans small-batch roasted by Cuvée Coffee Roasting Company in Spicewood may be that our city's embrace is facilitating a foray into a second store for owner Robby Grubbs: this one on Broadway, and possibly as soon as next month.
