Let's set the record straight: San Antonio is a jazz city. Our local talent is holding strong with groups like the King William Jazz Collective, the South Texas Jazz Quartet, and Bett Butler & Joël Dilley, just to name a few. We've got Trinity University's KRTU 91.7 FM, dedicated to 17 hours of unique jazz programming a day (one of the only stations of its kind in the country). And year after year, Current readers select Jazz'SAlive, held annually at Travis Park, as their favorite live music festival. Megastars like Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter, Dianne Reeves, and Branford Marsalis have headlined diverse acts both local and national, from Latin to big band to fusion. Best of all: it's free.
