1015 Navarro, (210) 222-2008, havanasanantonio.com

The term “hotel bar” conjures memories of a dimly lit mahogany lounge with a few commercial travelers tended by a tired barkeep who ignores his regulars — two working girls, hoping for an easy mark. Not so, Ocho. Perched over the river, the glass and steel vault of the tropical-themed room is filled with light by day, and the eclectic pan-Latin cuisine attracts a stylish crowd from afternoon to night. Or perhaps it’s the bar menu, with tropical cocktails that include a mojito Papa Hemingway would approve of, and several killer wines by the glass sourced from Hispania and Latin America.
