Frankfurter Express
111 Kings Court, (210) 737-7774

The folks at Frankfurter Express have served as a staple of great hot dogs in San Antonio for years and ain't new to the Current's best-of voters. The outfit's small house filled with whimsical and at times downright metaphysical art exemplifies the atmosphere of the North St. Mary's strip. Customer service is always friendly, but never artificial. Catch films on the patio every Thursday featuring a wide variety of unique offerings (almost as many as the plethora of doggies presented here). Films like Taqwacore: Birthplace of Punk Islam, Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket, and Star Wait have shown here free to the public and BYOB. Frankfurter is also the only place we've ever been where the cook personally brought out his own unique bottle of spicy ketchup when he saw us dousing our Heinz rubbish with Tabasco. That's the stuff.
