The first thing one notices at Formosa Garden is how replete the place is with Asian art and décor upon which to feast the eyes. That's just setting the scene for the real gastronomical feasting to come. Across the board dishes here are cuts above typical Chinese fare found elsewhere in the city — and yet Formosa remains reasonably priced. Specialties include the Formosa Island Duck, half a bird marinated and steamed as delicacy with shrimp and tropical fruit sauce. Couples can also be found sharing the generously portioned lotus wrap's piles of shrimp, scallops and mussels, along with two pieces of both salmon and tilapia, all served over brown rice and topped with minced garlic with a white wine sauce. Bring the sibs and rent out one of their party rooms for Mother's Day one year. Mom will thank us, and you will too.
