We don't know about you, but when we need comfort food, a chicken-fried steak is the best thing to fill that hole in the heart and make all the hurt go away. Because sometimes ice cream just won't cut it. The people at Lulu's Bakery and Café seem to know of the staple's comfort-food attributes in a preternatural sort of way. This is not your typical chicken-fried steak, but like everything else on the menu, it's "Texas-sized." The food-on-steroids portions here lured none other than that dude from "Man vs. Food" for Christ's sake. He did it for the thrills, but after our last break-up we used it as a form of intensive therapy, eschewing the small version for the big: 16 ounces of pan-fried steak measuring 15 inches across dipped in buttermilk — twice, between hand-breading — and then topped with a thick cream country gravy. Afterwards — engorged and happy — we had trouble remembering the guy's name. How do you mend a broken heart? Here's your answer. Fuck therapy.
