1. Element Tattoo
4741 Fredericksburg, (210) 979-9877, elementtattoo.com

In what has to be considered a big upset in this year's poll results, Element Tattoo has dethroned Dandyland Custom Tattoo, a shop that had earned top inking honors for more than five straight years. In business for the last seven years, the full-service electric tattoo parlor Element, owned by Jedidia Reid, has risen in the ranks with a team that collectively has over 117 years of tattoo experience. So what makes Element a tattoo shop unlike any other in San Antonio? Jedidia's "old lady" and shop employee Janessa Consenz puts it simply: "You're never going walk into Element and get a shitty tattoo. You can't say that about any other tattoo shop in San Antonio." With an army of tattoo artists from all walks of life working there, including Sweet Laraine, Chris Cotner, and Dario Medrano, Element has literally and metaphorically made their mark on the city.
