Today's art teacher has to be a great acrobat, often stretched between several schools and tasked with teaching on a non-existent supplies budget. Fortunately, the McNay Art Museum, Texas' first modern art museum, plays hero and invites teachers to bring their students free of charge for a tour that can be catered to the teacher's lesson plans. Even better, the McNay reimburses schools for their transportation costs. In May, the museum celebrates the 100th anniversary of the collage by displaying a gem from their permanent collection — Picasso's Guitar and Wine Glass. Walk the grounds of what used to be Marion Koogler McNay's palatial private residence and hang out with seminal works from the early part of the 20th century. You can't touch the art, but there's no guarantee it won't touch you.
