1. The Japanese Tea Garden
3853 N St. Mary's, (210) 212-4814, japaneseteagarden.org

Next time you're wandering around with your sweetheart at the Japanese Tea Garden at Brackenridge Park, turn to him and with the deepest, most romantic eyes whisper, "Ki-su shi-te." Don't worry. We promise the phrase will not get you slapped across the face. It's actually Japanese for "Kiss me" and it could lead to a lot more tongue action if you play your cards right and say it while sitting next to the beautiful waterfall and aquatic plants and flowers that adorn the venue. But if the sun is still high in the sky, do be a little discrete. The tourists don't want to see you swappin' spit and getting all handsy at the historic landmark. That's what Mission Concepción is for.
